Singapore – MediaCorp and mobile service provider M1 are partnering to launch a consumer trial for a mobile TV service in Singapore. Based on the Digital Video Broadcasting - Handheld (DVBH) technology, the trial service is planned for a mid-2008 launch, subject to regulatory approval. Hong Kong - Al Jazeera English has signed a carriage deal with Hong Kong Cable Ltd for the news channel to land in the Special Administration Region. Motorola to acquire Soundbuzz
Singapore – Mobile handset manufacturer Motorola will acquire Soundbuzz Pte Ltd, a pan-Asian music provider, to enhance its music delivery capabilities in Asia. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The deal, subject to customary conditions, is expected to close in Q1 2008.
