Hong Kong – Asia Satellite Telecommunications Holdings Limited announced that Peter Jackson will retire as CEO on 31 July 2010, and then be appointed as executive chairman on 1 August 2010 and remain as executive director of AsiaSat until 31 July 2011. Jackson, in his new capacity as executive chairman and his continuing role as executive director of AsiaSat, will maintain his strategic involvement in steering the company’s success. William Wade, currently deputy chief executive officer and executive director of AsiaSat, will succeed Jackson as chief executive officer with effect from 1 August 2010. Wade, aged 53, has been the executive director and the deputy chief executive officer of AsiaSat since May 1996, having served in that position since April 1994 prior to the listing of AsiaSat. Wade has over 25 years of experience in the satellite and cable television industry. He speaks Mandarin and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Communications from the University of Utah and a Master of International Management degree from Thunderbird (the Global School of International Management).
