Singapore – HBO Asia announced the launch of RED (also known as SCREEN RED), now available for the first time in Asia on PT MNC Indovision in Indonesia on channel 21. RED is HBO Asia’s brand new 24-hour, Asian movie channel that premieres the region’s latest Asian blockbuster movies, television series, and features celebrity interviews, entertainment news and much more. The name RED was selected for HBO Asia’s first foray into a dedicated channel with Asian content as the brand stands for energy and quality. Just as the colour red represents prosperity, luck and good fortune, RED will be imbued with a look-and-feel that is youthful, dynamic and electric. Movie highlights to look out for on RED include Korean blockbuster Haeundae; Murderer, starring Golden Horse award-winning actor Aaron Kwok; Sophie’s Revenge, produced by and starring Zhang Ziyi in her first romantic comedy; and historical action epic Warrior And The Wolf; as well as the television series The Myth, produced by and starring Jackie Chan and based on the original movie of the same name. Key anchor slots on RED include movies worth staying in for on ‘Stay Home Fridays’ every Friday night at 9pm (WIB) and ‘Saturday Action Double Bill’ featuring two action movies back-to-back every Saturday from 9pm (WIB). RED will also feature weekly genre highlights including romance (‘Red Roses’), thriller/drama (‘Red Alert’), monsters, myth and magic (‘Dark Red’), horror (‘Blood Red’) and ‘Spotlight On’ Asian hottest directors and actors.
