New York – Rainbow Media has secured licensing from Taiwan’s National Communications Commission (NCC) that will allow for WE tv’s launch in the country. The news comes just months after WE tv’s launches in Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore. “We’re pleased to have been awarded the license to bring WE tv to Taiwan,” said Ed Carroll, chief operating officer, Rainbow Entertainment Services. “Taiwan is a key part of our global expansion initiative. We look forward to entertaining Taiwanese viewers with WE tv programming in the near future.” WE tv – via its dedicated MEASAT 3a feed – is available for launch in Taiwan both in high and standard definition, and in English with Traditional Mandarin subtitles.
