London – FremantleMedia announced that Indonesian Idol has crowned its sixth winner. 17-year-old college student Elicohen Chrisstellgo Pentury, who goes by the nickname of ‘Igo’, won the coveted title and became Indonesia’s newest Idol on 7 August 2010 in Jakarta. Igo combined outstanding pop and rock vocal capabilities with a spectacular on-stage persona to win the grand finale over fellow contestant Skolastika Citra Kirana. After struggling early in the series to garner a strong public following, Igo went on to impress viewers and judges alike with his consistently strong performances in the spectacular weekly shows. He received support from his four younger brothers throughout the competition and won the audience vote to be named Indonesian Idol. This season, the average audience share was the highest since the break-out hit of Indonesian Idol 1. As part of his prize, Igo won a car and will now go on to record his first album with the recording contract he received from Sony Music.
