MIPCOM, Cannes – Turner Content Solutions Asia Pacific announced a landmark deal to provide free-to-air channel TV5 in the Philippines with a dedicated Cartoon Network branded block, the first agreement of its kind in the region. Launching nationally across the Philippines on 18 October 2010, the branded block will feature 19 hours per week of some of Cartoon Network’s top original content titles. These include kids’ favourites’: Ben 10; Ed, Edd & Eddy; Chowder; Dexter’s Lab; League of Super Evil; The Powerpuff Girls; My Gym Partner’s a Monkey; Batman, The Brave & The Bold; and Johnny Bravo. With TV5 consistently rated one of the Philippines’ top television stations, with a reach of over 3 million kids across the country, it is expected the deal will deliver a vast new audience of young fans to Cartoon Network. All programs will be dubbed into the Philippines’ native Tagalog, and aired in the channel’s daily kids’ programming slots: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 10:30am and 4:30pm to 6:00pm; Saturday and Sunday from 9:00am to 11:00am. Cartoon Network will also offer TV5 branded support with local on-air and off-air promotions to drive viewership throughout the Philippines.
