Hong Kong – TVB Pay Vision announced that the current and upcoming theatrical productions by Shaw Studios will make their exclusive television premieres on the new 24-hour TVB Movies channel. TVB Movies will feature an eclectic lineup of hits from Hong Kong, as well as the best of Asian cinema and animation titles. In celebration of the channel launch and to usher in the Chinese new year of the rabbit, TVB Movies will premiere 72 Tenants of Prosperity, the Eric Tsang vehicle with a Hong Kong box office of $34 million, and also the second highest grossing Chinese movie in Hong Kong in 2010. The channel’s title slate also includes Perfect Wedding with Miriam Yeung in her award-winning role, Shaw Studios’ comeback hit Turning Point, the Infernal Affairs trilogy, Wong Kar Wai’s Days Of Being Wild, Stephen Chow’s slapstick comedies and many others. TVB Movies’ launch follows the addition of TVB Food to the platform in September last year. The new channel is available as part of the basic pack on TVB Pay Vision’s SMATV platform and on NOW TV and Hutchison Global Communications’ TVB Pay Vision packs.
