New York – The AETN International MIPTV catalogue will feature over 400 new hours of content covering a range of genres from history and entertainment, to a broad selection of character driven real-life series and star-studded movies. AETN’s line-up of real-life series continues to grow with three new programmes. Beyond Scared Straight (6x½ hour and 1×1½ hours) is based on the Academy Award-winning documentary by Andrew Shapiro. The series profiles modern day youthful offender programmes around the US that put at-risk teens into intensive one-day in-prison sessions that show them the gritty unfiltered realities of life behind bars. Heavy (12×1 hour) takes an intimate look at the remarkable journeys of individuals facing extreme life-threatening health consequences as a result of their obesity. The series follows two participants per episode documenting their transformations during a six month treatment program. Storage Wars (20x½ hour) is a character-driven treasure hunt about storage unit auctions – the newest and biggest untapped source for hidden treasures. In each episode, the owner of a storage facility cuts the lock on a delinquent unit and raises the door, allowing anxious bidders to peer inside for a brief moment. Then, the bidding begins with one of the most successful and outrageous auctioneers in the US driving the action.
