Cannes – Televisa has announced its production For Love or for Money has been greenlit and will screen in China this year. The 30 episode drama, developed by the same team that created Ugly Betty, is currently in the adaptation stage in Beijing and is expected to debut in September. Arturo Cortina, Televisa’s advisor for Asian Countries told TV ASIA Plus at MIPTV that this series is just one of many they have planned for this year: “We’re focusing on enlarging the pipeline in China – we have six other projects in the works at present.” Cortina said that the process of getting localized series to the screen remains a challenge in China but he hopes the relationship with broadcasters there continues to strengthen.
