Miami – Nassan Ka Elisa?, the Philippine adaptation of Telemundo Internacional’s telenovela Missing, premiered on ABS-CBN in the Philippines recently to excellent results, reaching 45 per cent of audience share. Xavier Aristimuño, Telemundo Internacional’s Senior Vice President of Sales and International Business Development for Asia, attributed the success to the format “maintaining the structure of a good script, but adapting it to the unique cultural aspects of the local viewer”. Written by Pablo Illanes, Missing is a thriller which revolves around the mysterious disappearance of Elisa Dominguez. The police quickly discover that someone in Elisa’s circle is responsible for this. To date, the format has been sold to more than 15 countries including Indonesia, the Philippines and Turkey, among others.
