Hong Kong – Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has licensed Pan Am, a period dramedy series set around the iconic international airline of the same name, to STAR in India and TVNZ in New Zealand. Across the Asia Pacific, Pan Am will first take flight in India (STAR) in early 2012, followed by premieres in New Zealand (TVNZ) in February, Japan (IMAGICA BS) in March and Australia (Nine Network) later in the year. The show will also air on one of SPT’s networks in Asia next year. The series goes back in time to 1963, centering on the Pan American World Airways, where passengers and crew face a voyage whose landscape is shaped by romance, shifting societal values and even international espionage.
