London – Scripps Networks Interactive has named industry veteran Kevin Dickie Senior Vice President of Channels, UK &EMEA. In this newly created position, Dickie will be responsible for content and brand strategy for the region’s portfolio of channels including Food Network, Travel Channel and Fine Living. The announcement was made today by Phillip Luff, Managing Director, UK & EMEA, to whom Dickie will report.

Dickie joined Scripps Networks earlier this year in a consultancy role to evaluate the region’s programming and brand strategies. He will now have direct oversight of production and development, programming, scheduling strategy, marketing, creative services and communication. He will lead the team to create strong and vibrant content and brand campaigns. Dickie will also sit on the UK & EMEA leadership team and play an integral role in identifying strategic brand extension opportunities beyond television.
In the UK & EMEA, Scripps Networks distributes three lifestyle brands – Food Network, Travel Channel and Fine Living – that are available in more than 120 countries and territories, with nine feeds broadcast in 22 languages.
Previously, Dickie spent 15 years with Discovery Communications, based in Singapore. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Content Group, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific. In that role, he was responsible for shaping the overall vision and direction of the region’s portfolio of eight brands lead by Discovery Channel and Animal Planet. Dickie successfully launched TLC and Discovery Kids across the region. He also held additional marketing and communications leadership roles with the organization.
Prior to joining Discovery, Dickie was Director of Shandwick International’s corporate practice in Singapore. He began his career in London with consumer communications consultancy Murray and Company before joining media marketing specialists, Propellor Marketing Communications. Dickie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Glasgow Caledonia University.
