In light of recent debate surrounding the broadcast of the 2012 Olympic Games on FTA channels in Hong Kong, Television Broadcast Limited (TVB) has announced that they have been actively negotiating with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on the acquisition of broadcast rights of the Games. The company said it will make the best effort to acquire the rights of the Olympic Games to serve the interest of the public at large.
Once a decision has been made, TVB will invite Asia Television Limited (ATV) to co-produce and co-broadcast the sporting events and related programmes. These programmes could be broadcast on Pearl and World with NICAM services.
