Singapore – Viacom International Media Networks yesterday announced the premiere of international kids franchise Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on Nickelodeon in November.
Nickelodeon acquired the rights to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles property in 2009. The network’s Turtles pipeline includes toys and other merchandise manufactured by Playmates Toys, Inc. to be made available
internationally in 2013; and a live-action feature film to be directed by Michael Bay tentatively slated for a 2014 release.
According to merchandise distributor Playmates Toys, Turtles consumer products have generated more than US$3 billion at retail since 1988.
The new CGI animated-TV series, which consists of 26 half-hour episodes, will premiere in Asia-Pacific first in Australia and New Zealand on October 8, 2012, before making its way to the rest of Asia.
