Magic Light Pictures has signed and renewed a number of international agreements for its award winning animated films Room on the Broom (1×30’), The Gruffalo (1×30’), The Gruffalo’s Child (1×30’) and its new production, Stick Man (1×30’).
It has licensed the rights to Room on the Broom, The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child to Amazon Prime Video in the UK, marking its move into the SVOD space.
It has too renewed its rights agreement with Disney Channel in Latin America to broadcast all three animated films. Sprout has renewed the rights to broadcast the films in the US, having first aired Room on the Broom as a seasonal property during Halloween last year. Noga Israel and EETI Estonia have also renewed their rights to broadcast the films in their respective territories.
Magic Light Pictures has also signed additional international presales for Stick Man with DR Denmark and RTV Slovenia, ahead of its air date this Christmas on BBC1. It has already signed presale agreements with ABC Australia; NRK Norway; RTE Ireland; RUV Iceland; France Television; SVT Sweden; VPRO Netherlands and ZDF Germany, and confirmed international DVD distributors Concorde Germany, eOne Benelux and Roadshow Australia.
The films, which are based on the much loved children’s books written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, are currently available in 80 different territories across the UK, USA, Canada, Latin America, Asia, Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East, Africa and Australia.
Magic Light Pictures’ will be taking all four animated films to partners and buyers at MIP Junior 2015.
