Toronto, Canada – The first annual Asian Animation Summit (AAS) will take place on December 10 and 11 at the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Several prominent international broadcasters have already confirmed their attendance, including: Nickelodeon International; Disney Channels Worldwide; Corus Entertainment; BBC Worldwide; and Super RTL. Several Asian broadcasters have also confirmed their intention to attend, including: Australia’s ABC TV; Malaysia’s Media Prima and Astro; Korea’s KBS, EBS and Tooniverse; Singapore’s MediaCorp; and the Asian offices of Nickelodeon, Disney and Cartoon Network.
An initiative of Australia’s ABC TV, Korea’s KOCCA and Malaysia’s MDeC, the Asian Animation Summit will showcase the best new animated projects from Australia, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore to potential co-producers, broadcasters, distributors and investors.
Designed to stimulate co-production and co-financing, AAS will feature projects from each country in two categories—fully developed, partially funded projects seeking additional financing; and projects in development seeking market feedback. Over the course of the two-day event, each project will be presented in a moderated LIVE pitch and Q&A format.
