ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVSGE) is set to launch a host of major new formats at MIPCOM 2012: Surprise Surprise, Marry Me?, Top Dog Model, Don’t Blow The Inheritance, Fool… and Prime Suspect. These join Red or Black? and The Audience in the formats line-up.
Mike Beale, Director of International Formats, ITV Studios, said: “We are delighted to be unveiling a strong line-up of new formats this market. Our portfolio contains a wide variety of shows that transcend geographical boundaries and will appeal to broadcasters worldwide.”
Heading the slate is classic family entertainment juggernaut Surprise Surprise (ITV Studios for ITV1). After more than 14 successful series on British TV, this iconic show is making a comeback. Feel-good format Marry Me? (The Garden) sees two plucky men put their love on the line—staging elaborate marriage proposals in front of millions of viewers.
Top Dog Model (12 Yard for ITV2) delves into the world of posing pooches as they and their owners experience the demands of modelling assignments including photo shoots, TV adverts and live appearances to see how they handle the real-life pressure.
In the quiz show Don’t Blow The Inheritance (12 Yard for ITV1), parents can win a cash prize – not for themselves but to pass on to the next generation while In Fool…, (ITV Studios for ITV1) a hidden camera team travels the country in disguise fooling unsuspecting members of the public with an array of firmly stereotypical national characters, such as the local friendly Village Vicar, who lulls visitors into a false sense of security.
