On September 28 at 10pm, the TVI network in Portugal successfully debuted the latest adaptation of La Patrona, titled Santa Barbara, ranking among the five most watched shows in prime time with an average rating of 12.7 and 31.3% share.
“We are very pleased with the results of Santa Barbara’s premiere and are confident that the Portuguese audience will continue to be enthralled with this great story. This is the second adaptation that Telemundo Internacional has worked on with TVI, the first one being Belmonte, the adaptation of Hijos del Monte, an original story by TVN Chile, and we hope to continue working in this alliance harvesting quality products that the public wants to see”, said Karina Etchison, SVP of Cable Programming & Sales for Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
With Telemundo Internacional’s full support, the Portuguese network has stayed true to the original story by Telemundo, investing in lavish sets that show the beauty of the country, cutting edge technology and top talent such as Jessica Athayde, Paula Lobo Antunes, Luís Esparteiro, Marco D’Almeida, Marco Delgado, among others.
