Los Angeles – George Lucas, the creator of the Star Wars
series, was presented the award by Carrie Fisher, star of his iconic films.
The fifth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars garnered an impressive seven nominations this year by the Academy including David Tennant for Outstanding Performer in an Animated
Programme for his performance as Huyang, as well as Outstanding Directing in an Animated Programme. Excellence in sound for The Clone Wars was also recognised with Kevin Kiner receiving a nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition. David Acord from Skywalker Sound
(re-recording mixer) and Cameron Davis from LA Studios, Inc. (dialogue recordist) are named in the nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing.
