Viddsee announced Vidio as its Content Media Partner for the upcoming Vidssee Juree Awards Indonesia 2020. Under the partnership, the online streaming platform owned by Indonesia-based Surya Citra Media will be involved in promoting the awards through social media and live streaming the awards ceremony on 8 October, adding the finalists’ films onto their platform, and publishing editorial features about the films and winners.
The Viddsee Juree Awards Indonesia 2020 is an annual festival of short films that celebrates and supports filmmaker communities in Asia. This is the fourth time the awards have been held in Indonesia and the first time that Vidio has been involved as a Content Media Partner for the awards.
The Viddsee Juree Awards Indonesia ceremony will be broadcasted live on 8 October at 8:30 p.m. JKT time and will be available on Viddsee at and Vidio.
Prior to this, Viddsee and Vidio entered into an agreement announced on 31 August under which Vidio would host a Viddsee channel on its platform. The channel features dozens of premium short films from Indonesia and Singapore that include dramas, comedies, sci-fi, animation, romance, and more.
Derek Tan, co-founder of Viddsee said, “We are excited to extend our partnership with Vidio in promoting Juree, which over the years has been a great way to discover new local stories and talented filmmakers across the country. Vidio’s involvement this year further extends the reach of the awards to millions, and we hope their audiences will be as entertained and impressed as we are with this year’s entries.”
Eva Stephanie Kurnia, VP of Content, Vidio said, “Indonesia has a proud and rich tradition of storytelling, and filmmakers are an important part of carrying on that tradition in the digital age. Promoting the Viddsee Juree Awards is our way of supporting local filmmakers, ensuring that their craft, ingenuity, and love for films continue on. We hope that through our platform, we’re able to help propel the winners and finalists to achieve bigger and better things in the future.”
