Pop Music Songwriter Sharingï¼Vincent Fang, Mandopop Songwriter
Vincent Fang’s works carry a strong pictorial sense, almost as if they are artistic creations of rhetoric daubed on top of flowery rhetoric. Variations in style and subject abound and are melted into a hodgepodge of East and West, new and old, making each song rich in the impressions and ideas it imparts to the listener. His more recent works have seen a focus on Chinese-style lyrics, and even the occasional work of Chinese literature makes an appearance in his works—just like in “Dong Feng Po”, “Snow-like Hair”, “Chrysanthemum Terrace”, “Faraway”, “Blue and White Porcelain”, and “Lan Ting Xu”, all works that Fang collaborated on with Jay Chou. Fang’s move back to old style lyrics, like those from classical poetry, has created a new trend in the industry for artists to incorporate old poetic language in their modern lyrics.
Already known for his work in songwriting, Fang has admitted that he has an even greater love for writing poetry; he has even been invited to submit his new poetry to the National Museum of Taiwan Literature for the museum’s poetry events. Fang’s lyrics reveal the artist’s cultural background in and between the lines, and it is for that very reason that his works have often become the target of research and imitation.
Advanced Musical Improvisation & Solo Compositionï¼Ni Fang-lai, Taiwanese Lead Guitar Player

His oeuvre is full of a variety of musical styles, showing his ability to meet the exact needs of the producer and his skill that seamlessly and speedily brings the guitar line into each arrangement. No matter if it is Blues, rhythm, folk, country, Ni makes the guitar line sing no matter the style. Whenever there is a guitar heard in Taiwanese music, Ni is more than likely the man behind it.
Over the past 20 years, big Taiwanese artists have produced thousands of albums—and Ni’s guitar appears in nearly every single one of them.
