In commemoration of 55 years of National Service (NS55), So Drama! Entertainment (SDE) will premiere I Remember Me, an English short film directed by local veteran actor Tay Ping Hui. The film tells the story of how four National Service (NS) buddies Chee How, James, Hassan, and Khushwant band together once more to help their former Basic Military Training (BMT) Sergeant Rudin remember their times together, as his memory fails him. The four friends get creative as they attempt to recreate iconic and memorable scenes from their time in NS, with the hope that Rudin would say “I remember”.
So Drama! Entertainment to premiere Tay Ping Hui’s short film ‘I Remember Me’
I Remember Me is a light-hearted yet heart-warming tale about lifelong friendships forged during NS, and how collective experiences can shape who we are. The short film demonstrates how NS has a way of becoming part and parcel of life for every Singaporean son.
Tay shares, “For all Singaporean sons, we share a common experience of going through National Service. While our vocations might differ, the friendships forged during NS will bind us always. Even after 20 years, when we meet and chat about our NS days, we become like 18-year-olds again! This short film is a tribute to the friendships and loyalties that have remained steadfast, even with the passage of time and fading memories.”
I Remember Me will be available to watch on POWER 98 LOVE SONGS’s Facebook page from 20 July 2022, 7:00 p.m.
