SINGAPORE – A+E Networks Asia has announced the launch of the brand-new season of History Asia’s original production and award-winning automotive reality series Celebrity Car Wars for its third season. A new line-up of six celebrities across Southeast Asia will compete in a variety of super-charged automotive challenges.
Viewers can expect a turbocharged season that will be faster and fiercer. Helmed by Emmy-winning activeTV and sponsored by Caltex, the production of the show has recently completed filming in the Philippines, slated to air in September 2018.

Competing for honour, ego, and bragging rights this season’s new line-up are six celebrities from around the region who are ready to test their skills, endurance, and smarts against each other.
The challengers getting behind the wheel include Singaporean actor and comedian Munah Bagharib; Malaysian actor, producer and director Hans Isaac; Filipino actor, VJ, and son of legendary actress Teresa Loyzaga, Diego Loyzaga; American-Filipino actor, model, and singerXian Lim; Thai-Australian actor, singer, and model, Matthew Deane; his wife and competitor Thai R&B idol, actress, and social media influencer Lydia Sarunrat.

Host Bobby Tonelli and guest mentors, professional race drivers Gaby dela Merced and Michele Bumgarner, are back to steer the stars along their individual clashes and eight-week journey. Viewers can expect more madcap motoring mayhem and extreme challenges including an all-new perilous construction site obstacle course, an epic drag race down WCC’s Binalonan Airfield, and an amusing battle to pimp out a wreck.
Other challenges from previous seasons have been brought back by popular demand, including a Jeepney race, reverse racing, and an insanely tough off-road 4X4 ride along Pampanga’s Sacobia River. Celebrities will also face the dreaded brick wall, which returns to test their gumption yet again.
To amp things up, the third season of Celebrity Car Wars also sees past contenders Marc Nelson and Phomela Baranda return to the tracks for the series’ famous drag race, and Dominic Lau makes a special appearance to guest-referee the car-football challenge. This season also introduce a live leaderboard to allow contenders to track each other’s scores.

Celebrity Car Wars is produced by Emmy-winning activeTV and took home the Gold Award “Best Idea – Content Marketing” at the 2017 MARKies Awards organised by Marketing Magazine. The series’ popularity has demonstrated that the show is not only geared towards petrol-heads but has an appeal that draws a broad audience who appreciate performance, excellence and great entertainment.
The series also ties into History’s global celebration of all things automotive with an exciting ‘Car Week’ programming line-up that includes Evel Live featuring motorsports superstar Travis Pastrana, History of Speed, Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary, Truck Wars and Truck Night in America ,also premiering in the third quarter.
