DUBAI – FIGHT GLOBE announced the addition of the largest lethwei and bareknuckle fighting organization in the world, World Lethwei Championship (WLC), to its existing portfolio of combat sport media properties.
Lethwei is a traditional form of full contact, bare-knuckled fighting that hails from Myanmar. For the last couple of years, the sport of lethwei has experienced a resurgence. Supporting the rise, WLC modified the ruleset to make the sport more appealing to an international audience not used to the full-on action, bringing together some of the world’s top martial artists to compete in lethwei.
Operating from sales offices in Amsterdam and Dubai, FIGHT GLOBE will serve as WLC’s exclusive distribution agency.
Sabine Kesseler, Managing Director, FIGHT GLOBE said: “We are thrilled to represent WLC. Lethwei is uniquely positioned to bridge fans from kickboxing and MMA, especially knowing that MMA organization ONE Championship is already tapping into the WLC stables for crossover talent. We are very excited to get started and look forward to working with their team.”
WLC has hosted four events so far and planned for five more in 2018.
