Endemol unveiled its line-up of new formats originating from around the globe which will make their debut at MIPCOM 2014.
The Singer Takes It All
Endemol UK’s record breaking multiplatform series The Singer Takes It All will be available to international buyers for the first time in Cannes. The groundbreaking singing game show sees viewers become both judge and jury on a real-time interactive app. The first series on Channel 4 had over 21 million votes cast via the app and broke records with 15% of the live viewing audience voting along with the show.
Also from Endemol UK is Two Tribes, a fast paced quiz for the BBC, where contestants are split into tribes depending on what they have in common; and Stars at Your Service- the interactive Channel 4 series that gives the public the chance to book celebrities online and request funny, sublime or just plain ridiculous tasks.
From Endemol Germany is Hard to Believe, where celebrities must get to the bottom of astonishing true stories from everyday contestants. The show was a breakout hit for NDR pulling in 60% above the channel average.
Endemol will also be including scripted formats among its highlights this year. From Endemol Israel is The Orpheus Project, where a group of medical students discover their professor’s hidden research which holds the secret to giving supernatural psychological powers by manipulating a hormone released when dying.
From Endemol Spain is No Identity, the story of a lawyer who learns she is not the biological daughter of her parents and begins an obsessive search for her true origins which lead her to a dark network of theft, extortion and trafficking. The drama was a breakout hit for Antena 3 this summer, outperforming the channel average by 85% with 4.9 million viewers (25.7% share).
Returning to Cannes is Endemol Germany’s factual entertainment hit Host in a Box, which has sold to Spain and just received a prestigious “Deutscher Fernsehpreis” nomination in the Best Entertainment/ Doc category. Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids from Endemol Spain also returns following ratings success in Spain and Portugal.
Also returning to the market among Endemol’s line up is hit UK format Pointless which last week won the Rose D’or for Best Game Show.
As part of the company’s 20th anniversary celebration Endemol will host an exclusive invite only party on October 14 at the Grand Hyatt Martinez.
Iris Boelhouwer, Endemol’s MD of Creative Operations said, “Scripted programming continues to form an increasingly significant part of our business and highlighting these new drama formats at MIPCOM further underlines our growth in this area.
