TV viewers in Kyrgyzstan can now watch the BBC’s news programme in Russian on the 24/7 information channel, Ala-Too 24.  The Monday to Friday 26-minute global news programme will be aired at 23.00 local time.

Ala-Too 24 is the 24/7 information TV channel of Kyrgyzstan’s Public TV and Radio Broadcasting Corporation, KTRK.

The BBC’s news programme in Russian adds to the BBC’s strong presence on TV in Kyrgyzstan where around 3m people watch the BBC’s TV programming in Kyrgyz every week.  The Monday to Friday 10-minute TV news bulletin in Kyrgyz and the monthly 30-minute documentary programme, BBC Sapar, are aired by KTRK.
