Singapore – AXN’s ratings peaked in October with the premiere of the top-rated Asia’s Got Talent and the return of the two U.S Fall series, MacGyver 2 and The Blacklist 5, helping to secure a dominant 40% prime time share across 19 regional English general entertainment (GE) channels.
During its first full month of broadcast, Asia’s Got Talent dominated the 8:30pm timeslot, making AXN the #1 regional channel collectively in Malaysia, Singapore and The Philippines. The hugely popular new season, which heads into the semi-finals next Thursday, has also commanded significant social attention with act highlights achieving up to 39 million views on Facebook and YouTube within a week after broadcast.
“AXN primetime is a potent mix of pan-regional original productions and same-day U.S titles, which represents the best of English entertainment in the region. We’re thrilled that season two of Asia’s Got Talent is once again captivating AXN viewers, which is on track to break the regional ratings record the series set in season one,” said Virginia Lim, Senior Vice President and Head of Content, Production and Marketing, Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia.
Fan favorites MacGyver 2, starring Lucas Till, and The Blacklist, starring James Spader and now in its fifth season, are the top-rated U.S Fall series amongst all express titles in the GE genre collectively across the three countries.
