Singapore – The Walt Disney Company in South East Asia (SEA) announced changes to its management team to position for rapid growth in the film and media distribution landscape in the region. Amit Malhotra, previously General Manager Disney Media Distribution and Media+ becomes General Manager, Studio Entertainment SEA and will oversee all the Studio businesses (Theatrical, In-Home, Live Events and Stage Plays) in Southeast Asia.
As a result of these changes Mark Chan will take on an expanded role as Head – Disney Media Distribution reporting to Malhotra. These changes will enable Disney to better utilise the distribution and marketing success of its iconic titles across multiple parts of the business and implement the necessary steps to position for the fast moving, and increasingly digital entertainment landscape, while deepening relationships with all stakeholders in SEA.

In this new remit Chan who first started with Disney in 2003, will be responsible for the distribution and commercial growth of the entire media distribution portfolio of TWDC in SEA (Disney Channels portfolio, ABC Family, ABC News, ABC Studios, Walt Disney Studios, Digital Products, Games and Music) to all TV and digital platforms.
