The drama circles a doctor from Joseon era, Heo Im (Kim Nam-gil) and a surgeon from modern Seoul, Choi Yeong-kyung (Kim Ah-joong), as well as how their perspectives towards medicines affect each other. Heo Im is a low status but capable acupuncturist, but failed to cure his King. Hence, he had to flee and fell into the river when he was shot by arrow twice. As he wakes up, Heo Im finds that he has travelled 400 years to the future, in the modern-day Seoul. A big contrast to Heo Im is Yeong-kyung, a surgeon, vivid believer in modern medicine, and a party girl who goes clubbing to alleviate stress from work. The duo subsequently meet and will continue on to learn from each other.
