Asia-Pacific, Hong Kong – Asia’s leading media & entertainment conglomerate, CJ E&M, announces the latest development of tvN Asia, its regional linear channel, in Asia-Pacific in 2017. Starting from May onwards, tvN Asia will launch a customised local feed in Singapore to enhance audience experience with exclusive and express line-ups; while earlier from April, the channel was launched on Hong Kong’s largest OTT platform, myTV SUPER.
tvN Asia understands the importance of customisation and localisation, its first local feed will begin from May in Singapore, presenting audience with fresh episodes of first run express dramas every week within 24 hours after premiering in Korea. Duel, a suspense thriller by OCN which will premiere in Korea on 3 June 2017, will land on tvN Asia’s Singapore feed with an express window. Duel is directed by Lee Jong-jae and written by Kim Yoon-joo , starring Jung Jae-young who’s done movies almost exclusively, and only ventured into drama in 2016, as well as award-winning actress, Kim Jung-eun, and up-and-coming Yang Se-jong. Duel is about a police detective who met a human clone and got involved in a complicated case.
Audience of tvN Asia regional feed will also get to enjoy first run express drama this summer. Written by Jung Yoon-jung, writer of top-rated tvN drama Misaeng, Bride of The Water God is the most-anticipated mega drama by tvN of 2017, it stars heartthrob actor, Nam Joo-hyuk, and versatile singer and actress Shin Se-kyung. The drama is based on fantasy romance comic of the same title, and follows So-a who is supposed to be a sacrifice to the Water God in hopes to save her village from drought.
To further expand its reach, tvN Asia taps the largest OTT platform in Hong Kong, myTV SUPER, who has over 2.8 million users since its launch last year. With its enriched service offerings, the CJ Korean Entertainment Pack includes CJ E&M SVOD Zone and tvN channel. The pack will be included in the newly-launched myTV SUPER Supreme Pack ,which provides more than 40 extensive choices of thematic channels and over 32,000-hour programmes.
