Singapore – The Asian Television Awards has been nominated at the Webby Awards in the “Social – Celebrity/Fan” category. Its campaign, “Celebrating Asian TV” is among 4 other nominees including Brooklyn & Bailey, Martha Stewart Facebook Live, Revival Tour By Selena Gomez and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The Webby Award and The Webby People’s Voice Award are the Internet’s two most coveted awards. The Webby Award is judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), a group comprising of industry leaders such as Biz Stone, Founder of Twitter; Eva Chen, Head of Fashion Partnerships at Instagram; Musician Questlove; Lawrence Lessig, Founder of Creative Commons; Alex Blumberg, CEO of Gimlet Media and Colleen DeCourcy, Global Co-ECD, Wieden + Kennedy.

Together, both Awards are a mark of international distinction for Internet excellence. “It is an honour to be the only Asian entry nominated in our category along with the likes of social media luminaries such as Ellen DeGeneres, Martha Stewart and Selena Gomez.

Winners will be announced on Tuesday, 25 April 2017, and honoured at the 21st Annual Webby Awards at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, on Monday, 15 May 2017. Asian Television Awards is a part of the Singapore Media Festival (SMF), which is hosted by the Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA).
