Israel’s Viva and Viva Plus channels have already secured the newly launched Total Dreamer for their programming. Focused mainly on telenovelas, the pay-TV channels should air this modern-day fairy tale on May 02. Known for its telenovela frenzy, the Israeli audience will get to watch this lighthearted, romantic and inspiring story with Hebrew and Russian subtitles. Viva and Viva Plus, Globo’s longtime partners, have been broadcasting Brazilian hits such as Brazil Avenue, Empire and Brave Woman for years.
The story of a homeless woman who becomes a successful model and meets the love of her life was a hit in Brazil and reached more than 182 million viewers in the country (considering individuals who tuned in for at least one minute of the complete telenovela)
With great ratings both in Brazil and Portugal – where it became one of the TOP 5 most watched pay-TV shows in the country –, the telenovela gained exposure in the international market. Total Dreamer has already been licensed to the MBC 4 network (Dubai) and will be distributed to French-speaking African countries by Côte Ouest.
The telenovela tells the story of Eliza (Marina Ruy Barbosa, ‘Empire’), a young woman from the countryside of Rio de Janeiro who runs away to the big city after getting caught up in some trouble. She goes through rough times in the city and ends up becoming homeless; she later starts selling flowers for a living until she finds an opportunity to change the course of her life at a fashion contest. With a lot of drive and effort, this Cinderella-like woman will go through several situations and schemes before finding her place in this new world, while she also struggles to decide who is her true love.
