Berlinale 2017 – 108 Media announces that it has extended its distribution lines to include Korea, Japan and Scandinavia, and will look to extend to the UK in the first quarter of 2017 as the company continues to increase its global footprint following a strong 2016.
108 Media, launched in 2011 by founder and CEO Abhi Rastogi, already distributes content to all major platforms in North America and operates extensive distribution channels across Asia, with a primary focus on underserved territories and emerging markets.
The company will launch its Korean operations with Play On Cast, an integrated media and content company established in 2009, who produce and distribute vast HD & UHD 4K content. The partnership will see 108 Media increase sales and distribution activities of Play On Cast’s Korean TV drama series, and all 4K content in the North American market.
To coincide with Play On Cast, 108 Media also announce they have secured an output deal with Sidus Pictures, a distribution and production company based in South Korea. The company will have a catalogue of feature film titles released on Sidus’ SVOD service on a monthly basis. As well as expanding on its global distribution operations, 108 Media will continue to launch simultaneous releases across multiple territories throughout 2017, totalling more than 100 titles and looking to further expand.
