This season’s opener showed an impressive 34% average growth in Live+Same Day viewing across the 28 metered markets where data was available at issue. In the 28 markets across Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America where performance metrics were available overnight, The Walking Dead consistently outperformed its prior seasons records and dominated as #1 in its slot.

Already announced to be returning for the 8th season, The Walking Dead returns to over 200 million international viewers in 127 countries on FOX, with season 8 kicking off with the 100th episode of the series.
The global premiere was up 34% in Live+Same Day viewing (where applicable) average rating across 28 metered markets from episode 1 premiere prior season. On social media, The Walking Dead clocked over 3 million global public online mentions, generating 1.2 million more mentions than the season 6 finale.
Across its FOX+ airings, the season opened with an outstanding 3.2 TVR among FOX+ subscribers, 6 times higher than the closest competitor, and obtaining a 37% share of the audience. This was the best rating for a FOX+ series of the last three years.
