Cannes – Mountain Dog, a Swedish production company founded by Birgitta Wännström, who was behind hit series such as Gåsmamman and Maria Wern, has agreed on worldwide representation with Eccho Rights for two upcoming series. The first series is Honor, a Swedish crime series starring Sofia Helin and Alexandra Rapaport. A crime series with strong human stories, Honor follows events at a humanitarian law firm run by four female lawyers, who come under threat after they take on a controversial case.
The international thriller Brink, starring Rakel Wärmländer and Alexandra Rapaport, tells the story of an army lieutenant on leave who, after a visit to her father’s nature reserve in Kenya, enters into a battle against big game poachers and the international crime syndicate behind them. Broadcasters in Sweden have picked up both projects and the international rights are presented for pre-sales and co-production at Mipcom in Cannes.
“We are so excited to work with Mountain Dog and Birgitta’s team. At Eccho Rights, we believe producers deserve better representation for their projects in the international marketplace, and these new titles will be ideal for broadcasters around the world,” says Caroline Palmstierna, Director of Business Development at Eccho Rights.
“The Eccho Rights team has a unique expertise in the global market and can take Nordic drama to the next level,” says Birgitta Wännström, CEO of Mountain Dog. “Following the success of Gåsmamman, Brink and Honor are two really strong projects for Scandinavia and the world.”
