Singapore – Eleven Sports Network has announced the appointment of Shalu Wasu as Managing Director for Singapore. Wasu, who begins his role immediately and will report directly to Group Managing Director Danny Menken, will replace outgoing Asia Managing Director Joyee Biswas, who will move on to explore other opportunities.
Simone Kang, the network’s General Manager for Taiwan, will now also report directly to Menken. Wasu recently stepped down as Managing Director at Circus Social, a social data analytics company he co-founded in 2012, which counts WPP Group as a partner and shareholder.
“Shalu will help drive ELEVEN forward with a key focus on further expanding our subscriber base and engaging with more sports fans in Singapore,” says Menken. “We believe Shalu’s experience will help ensure the network remains at the forefront of the sports media landscape, and we are delighted to welcome him to the team.”
“I am extremely excited to take on such an interesting role in a dynamic and fast-moving network,” says Wasu (pictured). “ELEVEN has made remarkable progress in Singapore since its launch last year, and I am delighted to be joining such a talented team. I look forward to helping the network grow even further in Singapore.” Prior to establishing Circus Social, Wasu worked in a number of senior roles across the IT, education, services, consumer electronics, advertising and data analytics industries, and has been based in Singapore since 2004. He holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad, India.
