LGI Media the Australian-based distribution company specializing in factual programming is making tracks to MIPCOM 2022 with an extensive slate of new documentaries including Fall of the Maya King, Scotland Ocean Nation, Mama Irene, Kitchen Lab, Dream Listings: Byron Bay and Moments in Time.
Produced by Zoot Pictures (USA) in association with Nova, ARTE, ICI Explora, Blue Ant Media, and SBS, Fall of the Maya King (1 x 60’) is a dramatic and chilling story of the collapse of the Maya civilization.
The ancient Maya built an incredible society in a tropical rainforest that thrived for over 2,000 years and then vanished. For a millennia, the jungle lay undisturbed, hiding secrets. New discoveries and new science can now tell the story. Hidden deep in sacred caves lies evidence. Advanced bone analysis from hundreds of graves tells what the Maya ate, where they came from, and what changed in their lives. The most amazing new find – the KomKom vase – is the only written account of its kind, detailing events at the cusp of collapse. It speaks of a story of war, family power struggles between divine god-kings, failing power in the face of climate change, and murder. Experts lead deep into the sacred caves to the site of escalating offerings, human sacrifice and in final desperation, child sacrifice. Key sites reveal enigmatic piles of goods and bodies buried in palace rubble, as chaos and desperation grew, until – the end of their world.
Produced by UK-based independent production company Reel Soul Movies, Scotland Ocean Nation (3 x 60’) is a visually stunning and captivating series following world record stand-up paddleboarder and veterinarian Cal Major on an epic 800-mile ocean adventure around Scotland’s wild, dramatic, and unforgiving coastline.

Why does the milk rise? Why does the bread get toasted? Why does meat soften with the heat? Why do we cry with the onion? Why do we get swollen with legumes? Why does chilli sting us?
