CMC Holdings, Warner Bros. and TVB began a new relationship today with the launch of Flagship, where the best of eastern and western film production conglomerates come together.
The resources and expertise of some of the world’s most important people in the entertainment and media companies have come as one powerhouse operation for the first time. The relationship brings together China’s preeminent platform dedicated to media and entertainment CMC Holdings, Hollywood’s biggest TV studio Warner Bros., and Hong Kong’s leading television distributor and producer TVB to create a film production operation unlike any other.
China is the world’s second largest film market and through Flagship, they plan to make true contribution to the Chinese market. Warner Bros. plan to make great movies and showcase China’s history, values and stories. The operation will not be just making movies but a true cultural exchange between the companies and the countries.
In 1994, Warner Bros. became the first western studio to sign a distribution agreement in China and released the Fugitive which launched a new era in relationship between Hollywood and China. The relationship continued to flourish and brought to Chinese audience some of our biggest blockbusters including Harry Potter films, and DC Entertainment movies The Dark Knight Rises and the Man of Steel.
