Singapore – Shawn Galey is to direct a wide range of Bloomberg Television’s commercial affairs in the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Singapore, Galey assumes regional responsibility for distribution, new media, business development and marketing.

He replaces James Ross, who left Bloomberg Television mid-2006 to head up Granada International’s Hong Kong-based regional operations. Prior to joining Bloomberg Television, Galey was a senior vice president for legal and
business affairs at ESPN STAR Sports. He previously worked at CNBC Asia Pacific, managing the network’s business partnerships throughout the Asia-Pacific region and heading up the launch and operation of the MGM Channel for Greater China and Southeast Asia.

Earlier in his career, Galey served for more than ten years in various capacities in General Electric’s locomotives and plastics divisions, having initially been engaged in private law practice in New York, Pittsburgh and Tokyo.
