London – Steve Macallister will join BBC’s commercial arm, BBC Worldwide, as Managing Director, Global TV Sales in July 2007. He reports to BBC Worldwide’s Chief Executive Officer, John Smith and will sit on the company’s board.

 

Macallister is responsible for exploiting BBC Worldwide’s intellectual property totaling 40,000 hours of programming, and will oversee the company’s annual sales event, BBC Showcase.

 

Macallister was formerly Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Buena Vista International Television, Asia Pacific (BVITV-AP), the international television distribution arm of The Walt Disney Company, where he managed the company’s regional distribution business.
