Tokyo / London– Gakken Index Corporation has acquired rights to 400 hours of Granada International's programming to supply to major IPTV services in Japan. Branded Granada Broadband, the content includes Agatha Christie's Poirot, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Sharpe, Inspector Morse, Prime Suspect, Cracker, Tales of the Unexpected and The Worst Witch. Gakken Index will also create digital versions of the programmes, market the service and develop Japanese versions of new shows to launch on IPTV servers.
Gakken Index was established by educational content and publishing firm Gakken, together with IT and mobile technology company Index. Gakken Index has since published educational, training, gaming and visual content.
