Mumbai / Kolkata / Hong Kong- Uday Shankar has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of STAR India to oversee the company’s operations. He will join STAR India shortly and reports to Paul Aiello, Chief Executive Officer of STAR India.

Shankar is currently Chief Executive Officer of Media Content & Communications Services (MCCS), a 74-26 joint venture between Ananda Bazar Patrika Group (ABP) and STAR Group (STAR). MCCS operates Hindi news channel STAR News and Bengali news channel STAR Ananda and is working on the launch of a third channel in Marathi.
