Sydney- Australia’s Network Ten has described its crop of U.S. new season shows and renewals as the best in many years, and the Seven and Nine Networks are similarly pleased with their new offerings. “Both in terms of volume and quality, this is by far our most promising result from Hollywood in a decade,” Ten’s chief programming officer, David Mott, said after attending the Los Angeles Screenings. Via its new Fox pact, the network secured Back to You, The Rules for Starting Over, Women’s Murder Club, Journeyman and K-Ville. Also on its slate are CBS Paramount Network Television’s Cane and Swingtown; Showtime’s Californication; and at least one of NBC Universal Television’s The Bionic Woman, Lipstick Jungle or Life (shared with Seven). Nine has volume deals with Warner Bros., Sony and New Regency. Michael Healy, Nine’s Director of Programming, said: “We are confident that shows such as Cashmere Mafia, Viva Laughlin, Damages, Chuck and Pushing Daisies will hold strong appeal.
