Tokyo- Jupiter Telecommunications Co., Ltd. will be the first in Japan to broadcast sports dedicated channel J sports Plus in HD starting July 1. J:COM TV Digital subscribers can tune in to the new channel for an additional fee of 1,365 yen (US$11, tax inclusive). J sports Plus will cover the Tour de France cycling race with travel information about various French regions in HD over three weeks in July. Between end of July and beginning of August, J SPORTS will cover the 24th FIBA Asia Championship for Men, Japanese Pro Baseball Seibu Lions, J-League soccer and motor sports SUPERGT in HD, along with selected NHL ice hockey and NBA basketball games. J:COM broadcasts five channels in HD including LaLa HD and FOX Life HD.
