Kuala Lumpur- Disney Channel and Astro have launched inter-school dance competition ‘My School Rocks’ in Malaysia. Inspired by Disney Channel’s High School Musical, the contest requires groups of 10-16 students between the age of 9 and 16 to choreograph their own dance version of the High School Musical song We’re All in This Together. One team from each city will be chosen as finalists, to be announced on Disney Channel September 9 during the 7.30pm premiere of High School Musical 2. Malaysian consumers can vote online for their favourite team from September 9 – 23. The winner of the poll will feature in a specially choreographed and produced music video for the song What Time Is It? from High School Musical 2 to be broadcast across Southeast Asia on Disney Channel. The winning school will receive RM3,000 (US$873) funding to support the school’s music and dance curriculum. The three remaining finalist schools will receive RM1,500 (US$436) each to be used in promoting music and dance.
