Singapore – After failing to strike a deal with ESPN STAR Sports, StarHub has opted to produce its own Football Channel to air English Premier League soccer. The new channel will be packaged by Hong Kong’s Goal TV, in association with Ten Sports in Dubai. Live matches and magazine programs will be produced by TWI, while EPL highlights, studio previews, half-time studio shows and match summary shows will be produced by Goal TV and Ten Sports. Football Channel will be made available to all StarHub Digital Cable’s Sports Group customers when the Premier League season kicks off in August 2007, and to StarHub’s Digital Terrestrial Television (DTTV) customers. StarHub also launched the HubStation, an integrated device that enables consumers to watch, surf and talk. HubStation has digital video recorder (DVR) capabilities, with full Smart TV recording features for StarHub digital cable and FTA channels, free broadband Internet of up to 1000kbps, and access to StarHub’s Digital Voice Travel/FlexiTalk service.
