Cannes – Today at MIPCOM’s India Day, Disney-ABC International Television announced an agreement with basic cable channel Star Plus for Disney’s Platinum animation titles, which will be localized for the Indian market. This is the first time that Disney’s Platinum titles will air on a general entertainment (GE) channel in India, dubbed in Hindi using the voices of Bollywood superstars. The Incredibles premieres on October 14 on STAR Plus, featuring Shah Rukh Khan as the voice character of Mr Incredible, and his real-life son Aryan Khan as Dash. Other Disney movies set to air on STAR Plus include Toy Story, Tarzan, Finding Nemo, Jungle Book and more. This agreement builds on Disney’s existing relationship with STAR, which carries Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty and Lost. Disney recently reached a separate agreement with Sony Network’s GE channel, SAB, to make hit series Desperate Housewives, Lost, and Alias available in Hindi for the first time ever. Lost commences on October 12 on SAB.
