Hong Kong—The 10 biggest media advertisers in Hong Kong in July 2007 forked out a total of $HK392.84 million ($US50.4 million), according to admango. HSBC led the field, outlaying $7.9 million, followed by PCCW with $5.8 million, McDonald’s, Standard Chartered Bank and Wrigley. Most of PCCW’s media spend went into promoting its now TV English Premier League channels and the latest mobile services, Carat Media Services Hong Kong told clients in its monthly newsletter. SmarTone – Vodafone, one of PCCW’s competitors, also spent heavily in July, plugging its new 3G mobile services.
