Kuala Lumpur – Pacific Century Matrix (PCM), provider of satellite-based TV broadcast solutions has formalized a deal with MEASAT Satellite Systems Sdn. Bhd to distribute Filmazia and Filmax TV channels via the MEASAT-3 satellite. The two television channels are the first South Asian channels to be hosted on the satellite. According to Johnny Ng, PCM’s Director of Broadcast Sales responsible for the South Asian market, the company’s Pakistani bouquet customers are migrating their channels which include Filmax, Filmazia, Indus Vision and MTV Pakistan to the full transponder MCPC broadcast platform on MEASAT-3. Filmazia’s CEO, Muhammad Abid pointed to the fact that MEASAT has seeded antennas in Pakistan which makes MEASAT-3 suitable for local broadcasters. “The expansive coverage offered by MEASAT-3 has opened up new markets for our customers across Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe,” said Terry Bleakley, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, MEASAT.
