Singapore – ESPN STAR Sports (ESS) has renewed a multi-year exclusive agreement with England’s Football Association (FA), for broadcast rights to The FA Cup, England Internationals and FA Community Shield on multimedia platforms for the 2008/9 – 2011/12 seasons. Matches will be broadcast to 20 Asian markets. This is the first time ESS gets exclusive rights to use the content on digital media platforms including websites www.espnstar.com, www.espnstar.com.cn and www.espnstar.com.tw, as well as mobile services mobileESPN and soon-to-be launched STAR Sports Mobile. This deal adds to ESS’ football coverage which already includes the Barclays Premier League, UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup 2007/2008 season. ESS produces some 500 hours of original football programming yearly, including Nokia Football Crazy, Football Focus, Football Forecast, Goals and Football Extra.
